Logistics Cluster: Haiti Transport Routes, Ports Operational Despite Security Constraints
A 23 October 2026 online meeting report outlines road, air, port and fuel conditions as humanitarian operations continue.
Humanitarian logistics in Haiti remain functional despite persistent security constraints, according to a 23 October 2026 meeting report published by the Logistics Cluster (logcluster.org). Road transport is still possible on the country's main routes, with operations continuing primarily through private transporters, the report said. Logistics Sector road transport services remain operational and continue to support humanitarian partners. The report noted that Cap-Haïtien international airport is fully operational and continues to ensure international connections, including with the United States. The US Federal Aviation Administration's restrictions on civil American aircraft operations in the Port-au-Prince area have been extended until 2 March 2027, meaning commercial flights operated by US carriers to and from Port-au-Prince remain suspended. Cap-Haïtien continues to serve as the country's main international air gateway, notably for links with the United States. The country's main ports remain functional, though access constraints may arise occasionally; partners are urged to maintain heightened vigilance during cargo movements. No fuel shortage risk is currently reported, and loading operations continue normally at the Varreux terminal. Partners are invited to report physical access constraints via the LogIE platform and an available mobile application.
