Transparency On The
$1.50 Transfer Fee

Every money transfer sent home to Haiti carries a mandatory US$1.50 fee. Where does it go?

The Haitian diaspora sends billions of dollars home every year. These remittances are a lifeline — feeding families, paying school fees, and keeping communities standing. On top of every one of those transfers sits a mandatory US$1.50 fee.

Collected transfer after transfer, that fee adds up to an enormous sum. Yet there has been little public clarity on how much has been raised, who controls it, or what it has actually paid for. When money is taken from working families, they deserve to know where it goes.

This petition — started by All Haitian founder Nadine Millionaire — calls for exactly that: transparency and accountability.
