UEH renews Scientific Council mandate through July 2028
The State University of Haiti extended the terms of council members for two years, with Professor Dominique Boisson as president.
The Executive Council of the State University of Haiti (Université d'État d'Haïti, UEH) has renewed for two years the mandate of the members of its Scientific Council who agreed to continue their mission, according to Le Nouvelliste. Citing a Rectorate note dated September 16, 2026, the outlet reported that the new team is presided over by Professor Dominique Boisson and will oversee research activities at the university. Its responsibilities include selecting research projects submitted to the UEH, examining files related to scientific prizes, and, where necessary, formulating proposals on regulations and charters concerning research. According to the report, the mandate was renewed on July 22, 2026, and will run until July 22, 2028. Le Nouvelliste added that a representative of the Henry Christophe Campus in Limonade is also expected to join the council following that person's designation. The renewal comes amid broader discussions about the future of higher education and research in Haiti, including debates on public departmental universities and recent cooperation agreements involving the UEH.
