The grand finale of the national advocacy and eloquence competition, organized by the Office of the Citizen's Protection (OPC) under the theme "Women's Rights and Elections," took place on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Hotel Montana in Pétion-Ville, according to icihaiti.com. The ceremony was attended by Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security; Electoral Councilor Yves Marie Édouard; and the Citizen's Protector, Jean Wilner Morin. The OPC said the initiative placed youth at the center of a civic dialogue on human rights, gender equality, and the representation of women in democratic life. The contest was divided into two categories: secondary school and university. Lisa Faïmi Joseph, a former student of the Institution Saint-Louis de Bourdon, won the secondary school category with a score of 83 out of 100, receiving 50,000 gourdes, a laptop, and a one-year internship opportunity at the OPC. In the university category, first prize went to Daïna Silfise, a student at the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences (FDSE). Morin congratulated the finalists and called for greater integration of women into Haitian political life, while Minister Pedrica Saint Jean praised the initiative for promoting critical thinking and civic engagement among young people, according to icihaiti.com.
