For her final look, Osaka arrived on court in a fur-trimmed, multicolored cloak designed by Brooklyn-based label KidSuper, the brand of designer Colm Dillane. "I felt really swaggy when I put it on," she said. "I feel like it embodied New York a lot." The ensemble was paired with a headband echoing the NBA logo, reworked to show a tennis player.
Working with celebrity stylist Law Roach, Osaka wore a series of basketball-themed outfits during the tournament, honoring the New York Knicks' championship as part of her Nike sponsorship. Earlier looks channeled NBA great Allen Iverson and featured designs by Who Decides War, Thom Browne and Monse.
Osaka, 28, said she was hampered by leg pain and was philosophical about the loss. "Maybe I'm just getting older, but I don't feel sad," she said, adding she had no regrets.
