Haiti's Institut National de Formation Professionnelle (INFP) has launched a new renewable energy (ER) training program, according to icihaiti.com. The initiative, driven by INFP Director General Franck Lauture, was developed using a competency-based approach (Approche par compétence) and aims to train qualified technicians capable of meeting the needs of Haiti's energy sector and contributing to sustainable solutions. The launch event presented the program's main components and gathered technical observations from participants as part of a review and validation process. Lauture praised the collaboration of the Rinaldi Foundation and CESAL, as well as financial support from the European Union, which are contributing to the program's implementation and the strengthening of vocational training in Haiti. Through the launch, INFP reaffirmed its commitment to developing training adapted to the country's realities, promoting the professional integration of young people, and supporting the emergence of new skills in renewable energy. The institute has not yet published the session calendar, the exact duration in months, or the academic criteria required for application. Registration procedures and deployment in national pilot centers will be announced in the near future, the report said.
