Haiti to Host U.S. in Jamaica for Decisive Nations League Quarter-Final
Insecurity forces the Grenadiers to stage their home leg abroad, at Kingston's Sabina Park on November 14.
Haiti's men's national football team will face the United States on November 14 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals, according to lenational.org. Unable to host the match on its own soil, Haiti will play the fixture in Jamaica, at Sabina Park in Kingston, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. The report says officials at the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) had initially asked CONCACAF for authorization to stage the game on U.S. territory, but the request was not granted. Under the governing regulations, the match must be held within the CFU zone, which groups together the Caribbean football associations. Because of the insecurity that has prevented Haiti from hosting international matches for more than five years, the Grenadiers will once again have to welcome their opponent abroad, the outlet reports. The match is described as a decisive clash in the quarter-final tie.
