Haiti's men's under-17 national football team left the country on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, bound for Brazil for its final preparation camp ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to take place in Qatar from November 19 to December 13, 2026, according to Haitilibre and Le National. The young Grenadiers had previously trained for several weeks in Port-au-Prince and Ouanaminthe before this new stage of preparation, which is intended to sharpen fitness, reinforce automatisms and allow final adjustments. In Brazil, the team is scheduled to play friendly matches against local clubs including Fluminense, Flamengo and Botafogo, as well as against Brazil's own U-17 national selection. Haiti has been drawn into Group D, where it will face France, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. Per the published calendar, Haiti plays France on November 9, Uruguay on November 22 and Saudi Arabia on November 25, all at the Aspire Zone in Doha. The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) expressed gratitude to FIFA, the Brazilian Embassy in Haiti and Viva Rio, which it said were decisive in securing visas, as well as to its partners and sponsors.
