Haiti's Minister of Youth and Sports, Pythagore Dumas, outlined his ministry's achievements and upcoming projects during the "Mardis de la Nation" (Tuesdays of the Nation) series, presented exceptionally on Wednesday, October 14, according to haitilibre.com. Dumas said the 2026–2027 budget will prioritize the restructuring of sports infrastructure across the country, citing several sites: Park Saint-Joseph in Pemerle (Fonds-des-Nègres), Park Serge Bernadel in Miragoâne, Park Sténio Vincent in Gonaïves, Park Levelt in Saint-Marc, and Park Saint-Victor in Cap-Haïtien. The Parc Larco site has been identified for the construction of a stadium in the Greater South region, the report said. A land dispute between the Léger family and the Les Cayes municipal government was resolved following intervention by the Prime Minister, and a feasibility study will soon be conducted. A similar initiative is planned for the Greater North region. Dumas noted that building and maintaining a modern football stadium requires expertise the ministry currently lacks. The MJSAC has issued a call to recruit two civil engineers and two architects specializing in sports infrastructure. The ministry has also contacted the State University of Haiti and private universities to promote scholarships for studies in sports infrastructure abroad, intended for top-performing students.
