Haiti: More Than 100,000 Children Vaccinated in Nationwide Immunization Drive
The health ministry, backed by PAHO, reached children under five across three departments with essential vaccines.
More than 100,000 children have been immunized in Haiti during a campaign led by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) with support from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Le Nouvelliste reported. The operation was deployed from July 27 to August 1 in the Centre and Artibonite departments, then from August 11 to 18 in the Ouest department. According to the outlet, the campaign administered essential vaccines against polio, measles-rubella, and diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (DTP). The targeted beneficiaries were children aged 0 to 5 who had received no doses or had not completed their vaccination schedule. The effort aimed to close immunization gaps among the youngest children in areas where access to routine health services has been strained.
