The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) and its partners launched the first edition of 'Industry Week' at the Hôtel Karibe, held under the theme 'Toward the revitalization of the Haitian industrial sector,' according to Le Nouvelliste. The event, scheduled for October 1 to 3, 2026, aims to bring together private and public investors, entrepreneurs, academics, experts and industrialists to analyze the challenges facing the sector and explore its potential. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé officially opened the event on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in the presence of Commerce and Industry Minister James Monazard. The head of government reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting the sector's recovery and announced the implementation of a Strategic Industrial Policy Plan intended to structure value chains, modernize infrastructure and improve operating conditions.
