Faculty of Sciences Relocates to Mining Bureau, Continues Teaching
After leaving its former campus, the State University's Faculty of Sciences has found temporary refuge at the Bureau of Mines and Energy, Le Nouvelliste reports.
The Faculty of Sciences (FDS) of the State University of Haiti (UEH) is continuing its teaching mission from temporary quarters, according to Le Nouvelliste. After vacating its premises at the corner of Monseigneur Guilloux and Louis Joseph Janvier streets, the faculty relocated to the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME), the newspaper reported. In the provisional space, the FDS is said to be adapting to constraints, maintaining its activities and continuing to receive students despite the difficulties tied to the move. Le Nouvelliste reports that, at the BME, the faculty 'holds on,' organizes itself and pursues its educational work. The outlet notes that challenges had emerged even before the faculty left its former location, though full details were available only to subscribers. The report situates the FDS among other public higher-education institutions facing space and infrastructure difficulties, citing cases such as FASCH, FDSE and IERAH sharing a single building, and the Ecole normale supérieure operating without adequate premises. The article does not specify dates for the relocation or the number of students affected.
