American Airlines has resumed flights to Haiti with daily nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP), according to FTNnews.com and flightglobal.com. The route operates with Boeing 737 aircraft and offers connections to more than 90 US destinations through American's Miami hub. The launch marks the airline's 100th destination across its Caribbean and Latin America network during its centennial year. The inaugural flight was operated by an all-Haitian, Creole-speaking crew led by Captain Oliver Jean, which the carrier said reflected the route's strong community ties to South Florida. José A. Freig, American's Vice President of International Operations, said reaching 100 destinations across the region represented an important milestone in the airline's 100-year history. Juan Carlos Liscano, Senior Vice President of Miami Operations, said, 'The connection between the United States and Haiti is incredibly meaningful, which is especially true in South Florida.' The airline has not disclosed departure times or flight numbers. The Haiti route adds to American's expanding Miami network, where it operates more than 410 flights daily during peak periods, and follows its earlier 2026 return to Venezuela after a seven-year interruption.
