To mark Creole Language and Culture Month, the Akademi Kreyòl Ayisyen (AKA) is organizing a series of activities aimed at promoting Haiti's mother tongue and encouraging its use in education, according to Le Nouvelliste. Pierre-Antoine Cherilin, the institution's director of communication, outlined this edition's program as a guest on the program Panel Magik, aired on radio Magik 9 on Thursday, October 22. Cherilin emphasized the need to give Creole a more prominent place in Haitian society. This year's edition is built around the theme 'Lang kreyòl: fòs, kreyasyon ak konesans' (Creole language: strength, creation and knowledge). Among the planned activities, Le Nouvelliste reports a first edition of the Festival Liv Kreyòl Ayisyen (Haitian Creole Book Festival) to be held across nine cities. The initiative is part of broader efforts to raise the profile of Creole, a language spoken by the vast majority of Haitians, and to strengthen its role in the country's educational system. Further details of the program were presented during the radio appearance.
